Sandra Rawls Oltmanns, Ph.D., ASID, IIDA, NKBA, CAPS

Sandra Rawls Oltmanns, Naples, FL, has been an interior designer since 1976, after receiving her Bachelor of Science (BS) from Florida State University (FSU). She also has a Master of Science (MS) from FSU and her Doctorate (Ph.D.) from Virginia Tech.

She has worked in both residential and commercial interior design, designing homes, banks, country clubs, condominium social spaces, churches, and offices; in addition, she has taught at the university level, and conducted research. Research interests include: gender equity in public restroom design, adult day care design, and “environments for aging rock stars.”

Sandra is a registered interior designer in both Florida and Georgia; with memberships in ASID, IIDA, and NKBA; she obtained CAPS (Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist) certification in 2014; NCIDQ certificate holder since 1990; a former CIDA site visitor, 1992-2014; while keeping updated professionally through fulfilling continuing education requirements.
