Rare Los Castillo of Taxco set "Doves in Flight" brooches. Finding a set like this, in this shape, is almost unheard of. These doves have spread wings that are incredibly dramatic and majestic. In Mexican culture, the dove represents love and fertility, so these would be a wonderful gift from a groom to his bride!
This lovely set is marked 'Los Castillo Taxco Mexico Sterling 622', and the clasps work great.
The large bird is 2" tall and 1 7/8" wide. The small bird is 1 1/4" x 3/4".
I have lightly polished these to bring out the definition, but left the backs as-is. There is a small dent to the back of the large bird, but it doesn't affect the front at all.
A very rare set for the discerning collector, at a very good price! These tiny works of art are just breathtaking!
